Bisle Ghat
Bisle Ghat in sakleshpur is the best picturesque destination of Karnataka and is rewarded as ‘heaven on the earth’. Bisle Ghat is around 10 km from our Homestay in sakleshpur, towards kukke subramanya. Bisle Ghat is a perfect destination for the trekkers, not only because of its breathtaking view but also because it is one of the toughest trekking routes in Karnataka. Bisle view point near Bisle Ghat (5 Km from Bisle village) offers you the magnificent view of three mountain ranges – Yenikallu Betta (Hassan district), Doddabetta and Pushpagiri (Kodagu district) and Kumaraparvatha (Dakshina Kannada district). A lot of mountains and forest can be viewed from here. Travelling via Bisle Ghat gives you a thrilling experience. The stretch passes through the Bisle reserve forest range. You can see and enjoy many milky waterfalls, especially during rainy season. You can also spot peacocks, monkeys, deer’s, snakes and other wild animals. Best Time to Visit: Any time is fine to enjoy the beauty of Bisle Ghat, but September to December is the perfect time.

Yedakumeri railway trek offers a magnificent view of green misty hills, milky waterfalls, deep valleys, dark tunnels and old railway bridges over water streams. You can witness Human engineering (Tunnels and Rail Bridges) and breathtaking view of the nature. You will be taken on a 4×4 jeep from Hongadhalla to Yedakumari and dropped back at hongadahalla. The jeep rent and guide will cost Rs 1000/-

Mallalli Waterfalls
Mallalli Falls is situated in the northern region of Coorg District, Karnataka. This falls is around 18km from our homestay in sakleshpur. You need to cover a short distance by foot to reach this magnificent falls. The Kumaradhara River is the main watercourse for this waterfalls. Mallalli Abbi Falls is one of the tallest waterfalls in the Coorg where the river Kumaradhara drops down 200 feet. Scattered along the stream are other misty waterfalls, situated on the foothills of the Pushpagiri hill-ranges, 25 km from Somwarpet. The Kumaradhara later flows through Kukke Subrahmanya and merges with the Netravati River at Uppinangadi, which then empties into the Arabian Sea at Mangalore.

This is a small but beautiful waterfalls, close to our homestay in sakleshpur (Around 13km from jagate’s mist Homestay). The road leading to this water falls is not in good shape; you need to cover a short distance by foot to reach this beautiful water falls.
Manjarabad Fort
Manjarabad fort is in Donigal on NH 48, 7 km from Sakleshpur. This place is around 34km from our homestay in sakleshpur (On the way back to sakleshpur-Bangalore). Manjarabad Fort was constructed by Tipu Sultan, the ruler of Mysore as a strategic defensive location. The fort served this use because it commands the approach to the plateau beyond Sakleshpur from the coast. Situated on a hillock, the fort is on one level, unlike other forts, which are multi-level. From the fort, tourists can get an aerial view of the Western Ghats. Out of the many chambers in the fort, some were used to house the horses. Certain chambers served the soldiers as kitchen and bathrooms. A tunnel in the fort leads to Srirangapatna. Later, the tunnel was used to dump dead bodies. The fort has Islamic style of architecture and arched entrance-ways. The forts sits at an elevation of 3,240 ft above sea level.
